Carving tips for this stencil
- The face is one big opening; the round eyes and stitched smile stay as pumpkin, held by small tabs. Cut around them slowly and keep the tabs, then cut the hat and hair.
- Difficulty: Standard. Plan on an evening and use a small kit saw, not a kitchen knife.
- Usually cut small inner pieces before big outer ones, so the pumpkin stays strong while you work.
- Choose a pumpkin with a smooth face at least 9 inches across and thin the wall behind the design from the inside.
